D.C. Police Identify Man Shot By Police Officer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police in the District of Columbia have identified an armed man who was shot by a police officer during a confrontation.

Police say Michael Ezekel Epps, 20, of Windsor Mill, Md. was high on PCP and firing a gun in a northeast D.C. neighborhood Monday evening.

Authorities say he was shot after he refused police orders to drop the gun. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The police department says it's investigating the shooting.
