3 Charged In Series Of Armed Robberies In Md.

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Allegany County authorities have arrested three men in a series of armed robberies in the county.

Cody Crabtree, 23, and Cory Crabtree, 20, both of Cumberland, and Zachary Huffman, 21, of Oldtown were arrested Tuesday and charged with several counts of armed robbery.

Police say the robberies included one of a business in which the victim was hit in the head, one of a restaurant, and one in a home.

In that robbery, four suspects broke into a home, tied up the 69-year-old resident and stole firearms. The woman was not freed for 16 hours, when police found her stolen car abandoned at a motel and went to her home.
