When middle linebacker Ray Lewis finally retires, he will go down as arguably the greatest to play his position.  He’s at the very least on the short list with Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary and others.

Lewis has missed the Baltimore Ravens last four games with turf toe, and it made me realize that the end may be near.  In Baltimore, we went through a similar thing with Cal Ripken Jr and his retirement from the Baltimore Orioles.  The reality is this could be Ray’s last year and if not, maybe one more season.

Enjoy him Baltimore.  Our heroes aren’t here forever.

I had very similar thought when I found out Ray had been injuried.
