Md. Chef Helping With Baltimore Food Drive

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Maryland chef is joining Food Network and others for a food drive to help combat childhood hunger.

Chris Ford, executive pastry chef of the restaurant Wit and Wisdom, will be on hand Monday evening at the Harbor East Whole Foods Market in Baltimore.

Food Network and Whole Foods Market are partners in Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

Ford will help collect customer donations to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. Organizers are especially looking for donations of fresh produce, meats, poultry and dairy products.

Organizers said in a statement that Food Network will deliver 90,000 meals in the D.C. and Baltimore areas and 45,000 more in the Philadelphia area by Christmas.
