CRESAPTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say two teens tried to pass suspected marijuana to an inmate during a visit to the Western Correctional Institution.

The Cumberland Times-News reports that corrections officials seized 17 small baggies of suspected marijuana on Sunday. Police say Mia S. Taft, 19, of Baltimore and a 16-year-old girl tried to pass the suspected marijuana to an inmate.

Both were charged with delivery of contraband to a place of confinement, possession of contraband at a place of confinement, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to deliver, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Taft was held on $25,000 bail at the Allegany County Detention Center. The girl was released to the custody of her parents, pending judicial action by juvenile authorities.
