Okla. City Company Recalls Misbranded Meats In Md.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma City company is recalling 875 pounds of turkey filets that are mislabeled as center cut steaks.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall Monday by Chef's Requested Foods Inc.

The product's label reads "Chef's Requested Center Cut Steak" and includes the establishment number "EST.5792."

The U.S.D.A. says in a Tuesday news release that the product was distributed to retail stores in Arizona, California, Maryland, Ohio and Texas. The mislabeling was discovered by a retailer who notified Chef's Requested Foods -- which notified the U.S.D.A.

Both the company and the Food Safety and Inspection Service say no health problems have been reported.
