What To Do With Gift Wrapping, Boxes? Recycle!

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Once all of the holiday gifts have been opened and enjoyed, Baltimore city officials are reminding residents that they can recycle much of the wrapping, boxes, Styrofoam, and even those old electronics that are being replaced by this year's gifts.

The Bureau of Solid Waste says recyclable paper includes wrapping, tissue and colored paper, but not ribbons or foil.

Cardboard packaging and boxes are also recyclable as well as holiday cards and envelopes. Styrofoam can be recycled, but must be taken to the Northwest Citizen's Convenience Center in a clear plastic bag.

Old electronic devices can be taken to any one of the city's five Citizen Convenience Centers which offer electronics recycling year-round.
