Last-Minute Shoppers Finding Good Deals

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Time is running out. Stores will close soon and Christmas will be here. Gigi Barnett explains some shoppers are finding good deals as the clock ticks down.

Some Christmas shoppers are done; everything is wrapped and ready to go.

"I am completely done," said shopper Joyce Rowe.

Others waited until Saturday.

"I think I'm addicted to the crowds and getting angry and once everything is over, it's all good. You know?" said shopper Heidi Kendall.

No matter the category, time is running out to finish.

Terry Matthews has a deal with his wife. He shops only for her; she takes care of all the other gifts. He just finished; his wife was done days ago.

"That's the deal," Matthews said. "She's home cooking dinner."

Shoppers say the one thing that sets this Christmas Eve apart from last year are the deals they're finding so close to the holiday.

"I found better deals recently, like this week," said Carol Zolicoffer.

The Best Buy in Towson was busy Saturday morning. Store manager Matt Dawson says there are deals to find even with the clock ticking.

"Don't wait for Santa," Dawson said.

The National Retail Federation predicts stores will bring in a record $469 billion in sales this holiday and a nearly four percent boost in sales this holiday shopping season.
