Metro Maintaining Regular Service During Weekend

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says it'll operate on regular weekend schedules this weekend and next, which means trains will run until 3 a.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

But there will be holiday service on Monday, which means trains will operate from 7 a.m. until midnight and buses will run on a Sunday schedule.

Metro officials say there'll be regular service again next Friday, with extra afternoon trains.

Metrorail will then operate from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. next Saturday -- New Year's Eve -- and from 7 a.m. until midnight on New Year's Day. Next Monday, the day the holiday is observed, trains will run from 7 a.m. until midnight and buses will again be on a Sunday schedule.
