FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in Frederick after a Christmas night stabbing.

Police say 18-year-old Jose Miguel Mercado was trying to damage a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot when he was approached by another man. They scuffled, and the man was stabbed in the arm.

Mercado was arrested after a foot chase and identified by the victim. He’s charged with first-degree assault, reckless
endangerment and malicious destruction of property.
