4 Juveniles Charged In Urbana Garage Fires
URBANA, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County authorities say they have charged four 16-year-old boys with second-degree arson in a series of fires in the unincorporated community of Urbana.
The county's fire investigative task force announced the arrests Wednesday. Capt. Tim Clarke says the boys have been released to the custody of their parents. He says the charges will be referred to the state Department of Juvenile Justice.
Clarke says the boys shoplifted marine flares from a Walmart in Frederick and used them to set two garages and a wooden deck on fire in the Villages of Urbana subdivision. He says the fires caused $130,000 worth of damage.
Clarke says three of the boys live in the subdivision and the fourth lives in the greater Urbana area.
