Excitement Brewing As Fans Await Ravens Playoff Game

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Baltimore Ravens have a new division title, a chance at the Super Bowl and now players and fans are in full "playoff mode."

Kai Jackson went out to find out how Baltimore is painting the town purple.

Baltimore Ravens and their fans are worked up into a purple frenzy. The team's logo is emblazoned on the grass in front of City Hall and fans are beaming with pride.

"We're out here to watch 'em paint the town purple. Started over at Federal Hill, painting the helmet logo, the big Raven bird on Federal Hill and here at City Hall," said Ravens fan James Audy.

They're excited as the team heads into the playoffs, yet fans say from practice to play to pain, the Ravens have earned this position.

"Here in Baltimore, our Ravens fans, we're really, really dedicated fans, so just to light up City Hall getting into it, I really think it's a beautiful start to the playoff ride," said Jennett Cook.

The purple passion continued at Rams Head Tavern, where Ravens running back Ray Rice hosted a charity event. Rice put down the ball and he and several teammates picked up a microphone. He hosted the fundraiser for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

"We're going to the Super Bowl. That's all there is to it. I'm not scared of anybody. Bring New England, bring Pittsburgh --we already beat Pittsburgh. I want New England. I want Brady, with Ray Rice leading the way. Yes, Ray Rice all the way, baby," said Brandon Kendrick.

You can see the game live right here on WJZ-13.
