Delle Donne Keys No. 21 Delaware Women Past Towson

NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Elena Delle Donne had 37 points, breaking the school's career scoring record, as No. 21 Delaware beat Towson 74-51 on Thursday night.

Delle Donne, the country's leading scorer at 28.8 points per game, now has 1,685 career points. The 6'5"  junior broke the Delaware record in her 63rd career game, 50 games fewer than the previous record holder, Cindy Johnson, who scored 1,675 from 1997-2001.

Delle Donne, who also had nine rebounds and three assists, shot 16 for 22 from the floor, including 3 of 5 on 3-pointers.

The Blue Hens (11-1, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) never trailed and took a 30-23 lead on Delle Donne's jumper just before the halftime buzzer.

Tanisha McTiller scored 16 points to lead three players in double figures for the Tigers (11-2, 1-1).
