Coast Guard Flies 20-Foot Tower To Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard says it has flown a 20-foot tower used as a navigation aid to the Ocean City jetty.
Coast Guard crews built the tower and shipped it to Ocean City Municipal Airport. From there, an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter flew the tower to the jetty. The light will mark the entrance of the inlet jetty.
The tower was a replacement for a one that was knocked down during Hurricane Irene in August.
