DAVIS, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia authorities are investigating a kayaking accident on the Blackwater River that killed a Maryland man.
Media outlets report that the accident occurred Sunday at Blackwater Falls State Park near Davis in Tucker County.
The state Division of Natural Resources says Robert A. Norr, 20, of Gaithersburg, Md., was trying to navigate Flat Liner Falls when he was pinned under a rock. He was kayaking with five other people at the time.
Searchers found Norr’s body Monday morning. The body will be sent to the state medical examiner in Charleston for an autopsy.
