Delegate Impallaria Running For Congress

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Delegate Rick Impallaria has filed to run for the Republican nomination in Maryland's 2nd Congressional District race.

Impallaria filed with the Maryland State Board of Elections on Wednesday, the last day for candidates to file.

Impallaria has been a delegate since 2003. He represents parts of Baltimore and Harford counties. He'll be running in a five-way primary that includes state Sen. Nancy Jacobs, R-Harford.

Larry Smith, a former aide to Republican U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, also is running. Vladmir Degen and Howard Orton also are running.

Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger is the Democratic incumbent.
