Sewage Spill Of At Least 2K Gallons Reported

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Fort Detrick is reporting a sewage spill along the Monocacy River in Frederick.

The Army post says the failure of some pumping equipment caused a leak of partially treated sewage for about three and a half hours Thursday morning.

The Army says the waste water was absorbed into the ground or flowed into the river.

The Army says drinking water supplies weren't affected by the release.
