Reporting Gigi Barnett
BALTIMORE (WJZ)– The excitement continues to build as the Ravens gear up for the AFC title game.
Gigi Barnett has more on the search for playoff gear.
Patriots fans have a reputation for being on the mild side when it comes to cheering for their team. Ravens fans say that’s not their style– they are ready to celebrate and shop.
This is the sound of Ravens fever. At a tent in Rosedale, Baltimore County the call is clear. It’s where Ravens fans gear up for Sunday’s showdown against the Patriots.
“It’s going to be a good game. I mean, they don’t have a solid defense but our offense is questionable at times so it’s going to be a battle back and forth,” Ravens fan Justin Taylor said.
“We’re going to sweep ‘em. We’re going to double the score, whatever it is, we’re going to double it,” Megan Amico, another Ravens fan, said.
So this weekend, the tent stays open 24/7 for any last-minute Ravens fans.
“My husband got me one of the Ray Lewis shirts last night and my son was upset he didn’t get him one,” Marlene Brilla said. “So I’m here getting him one on my lunch break.”
Dan “The T-Shirt Man” McClure runs the Ravens Fever tent. He says there are Ravens fans looking for gear at 3 a.m.
Barnett: “When are you going to get some sleep?”
McClure: “I’ll sleep when the Ravens win the Super Bowl. Then I’ll be fine.”
Everything and anything Ravens is in this tent. They’ve got Ravens toothbrushes, Ravens slippers and, of course, the famous Flacco fu manchu– because if you can’t grow it, buy it.
“I’m telling you, the Super Bowl belongs to Baltimore this year, without a doubt,” Ravens fan Alex Dorsey said.
But the Patriot fans have some predictions of their own.
“I think the Ravens just won’t be able to hold them down,” said George DeSilva, a Patriots fan. “I think the Patriots are going to score quite often.”
“I say 34, at least, I think so. And probably zero,” another Patriots fan said.
