3 In Frederick Accused Of Counterfeiting

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Three people in Frederick have been accused of using counterfeit currency to buy goods at local stores.

The Frederick News-Post reports that the trio was using counterfeit bills to purchase items at Walmart and Kmart stores, then returning the items a short time later to collect real cash.

Karena Elizabeth Snowden, Christina Marie Laycock and Antwine Dwayne Snowden Jr. were charged with possession of forged currency, theft under $1,000, theft scheme and conspiracy.

The scheme was first reported by employees at Kmart in December. Police said it was a good catch by the store workers.
