Purple Party Planning Underway All Over Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The purple party planning is in full swing around Baltimore. As thousands of fans watch Sunday's game, food will be a part of the fun.

Gigi Barnett takes a look at one of Baltimore County's busiest kitchens.

At Andy Nelson's BBQ in Cockeysville, the kitchen is fired up.

There's enough to feed hundreds this weekend, and orders on the ribs, cole slaw and beef brisket continue to pour in for Sunday's showdown against the Patriots.

"I think people feel the excitement. People are talking about the game," said Ravens fan John Tolme.

"It gets people in a good mood," said manager Andy Nelson Jr.

And this is good mood food.

"Whenever the Ravens score, everybody screams. We really have a real nice time," said fan Edward Oliver.

Oliver's menu for Sunday is set. He's in such a good mood, he even invited some Patriots fans to his party.

"It lit the whole city up. Everybody is ready," Oliver said. "Everybody cannot wait."

To give you some idea of how busy the kitchen is here at Andy Nelson's, on an average weekend, they make about 700 wings. This weekend, it's 1,500.

"After this, I'm going to be in front of the TV," Nelson said.

You can watch the Ravens take on the Patriots at 3 p.m. Sunday only on WJZ.
