Loyola Pulls Away From St. Peter's 65-54

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Erik Etherly scored seven of his 19 points on the first-half run that propelled Loyola (Md.) ahead of Saint Peter's, and the Greyhounds pulled away for a 65-54 win Sunday.

Loyola (14-5, 7-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which has won two games in a row and five of its past six, is off to its best 19-game start in the school's 31-year Division I history.

Robert Olson added 15 points for the Greyhounds.

The Peacocks (4-16, 3-6) were up 20-15 with 8:55 to go until halftime when Olson tied it at 20 with a 3-pointer and a layup. Etherly then made two layups, a dunk and a free throw to cap the 12-1 spurt.

The Greyhounds led 36-27 at halftime and, after Olson's 3-pointer with 18:28 left, maintained a double-digit lead from that point.

Darius Conley's 12 points led Saint Peter's, which has lost four of its past five.
