Landing Gear Concerns Divert Plane To BWI

LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) -- A commuter plane headed to Dulles International Airport from Richmond was safely diverted to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport over concerns about a possible mechanical issue.

BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean says flight ExpressJet 6060 was diverted Monday morning after an indicator showed there might be a problem with the plane's landing gear.

ExpressJet says the plane landed without problems and the 42 passengers were evacuated and taken by bus to the terminal.

No injuries were reported.

The airline says it is trying to determine what the problem was and arrange for passengers to get to Dulles, or their final destination.
