Man Shot And Injured Near Park

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Hagerstown police say they are searching for a suspect in the shooting of a man near Fairgrounds Park.

Authorities say the victim, who is believed to be in his 20s, was shot at least twice at North Cannon Avenue and North Mulberry Street on Monday afternoon. Capt. Mart Holtzman says the victim suffered serious injuries but that it was not known if they were life-threatening.

Holtzman says police were called to the area about 3:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired. He says officers found the victim lying in a snow-covered area.

Police say witnesses told them they heard at least three gunshots and saw a man fleeing northbound on Mulberry Street.
