LANGLEY PARK, Md. (AP) — Police in Prince George’s County say a suspect in the robbery of an elderly woman has been arrested in New York.

Police say Linda McCorkle, 48, was arrested Friday by the United States Marshal Service. Police say she is a suspect in the robbery of an elderly woman in Langley Park last week and is named in an arrest warrant on charges of armed robbery and second-degree assault. She was identified through a tip and through surveillance video from Bank of America.

Police say McCorkle was with three small children when she approached an 84-year-old woman and told her she needed help cashing a check to care for the kids. Police say the woman agreed to drive McCorkle to the bank and withdrew money. She then allegedly stole the money.
