Man Found Dead In Water Near Wharf Is Identified
LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in southern Maryland have identified a body found by two kayakers near the Leonardtown Wharf.
The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations says the dead man has been identified as Francis Barnes, 53, of Hollywood, Md. Authorities say Barnes had been reported missing on Tuesday.
His body was found Saturday morning about 30 feet from the shore. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
