ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili will make a brief visit to the U.S. Naval Academy.

The Georgian president will be accompanied by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus in Annapolis on Friday.

Saakashvili will meet with Vice Adm. Michael Miller, the academy’s superintendent, as well as Naval Academy staff and midshipmen.

He will tour the academy and have a chance to have lunch with four international midshipmen from Georgia who currently attend the academy.

Saakashvili visited with President Barack Obama on Monday.

He has been president of Georgia since 2004, and he has sought to steer the country toward joining the European Union and NATO.
