Man Charged With Vehicle Theft After Pursuit

FINKSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Linthicum man has been charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft after an early morning pursuit.

Authorities say a trooper encountered a truck pulling a trailer with a stump grinder on state Route 140 in Carroll County and stopped it "due to a suspicious set of circumstances." Police say when the trooper approached, the driver sped away. The driver drove onto Interstate 795 and then exited the highway, where he lost control of the vehicle, causing the trailer to overturn.

The driver, Mark Joseph Kyle, 38, fled on foot and was apprehended on Nicodemus Road in Reisterstown.

Authorities say the truck had been stolen from the Stansbury Tree Service in Finksburg.
