Ocean City Tourism Director Resigns After 6 Years

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City's tourism director has announced she is resigning after six years on the job.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Deborah Turk offered her resignation to town officials on Monday night. Turk is leaving to take a position as a sales manager for Comcast Corporation.

Turk will continue to work for the resort town until March 1.

Mayor and interim City Manager Rick Meehan said the town's communications director, Donna Abbott, will serve as interim tourism director.

Turk is the third town department head to leave since September.
