Police Search For Car Theft Suspect Who Ran Into School Building

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— A Baltimore City charter school was put on lockdown after a car theft suspect ran into the school building.

Captain Mike Perry reports it happened Tuesday around 3 p.m.

As police were trying to apprehend a stolen vehicle, the suspect pulled into the parking lot of 2500 E. Northern Parkway, which houses NACA charter school and Friendship Academy. The driver then bailed and ran into the school building.

NACA was briefly put on lockdown because students were still inside the building when the suspect entered.

Police have searched the building, but have not been able to find the suspect.

City and school police remain on the scene, as the suspect is believed to still be at large within the school building.

Students have been dismissed.

No injuries have been reported.
