Bus Driver Sentenced For Molesting Woman

ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- A Delaware bus driver who pleaded guilty to molesting a woman with Down syndrome on his bus has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Ronald Elam, 51, of Newark, Del., was also ordered to register as a sex offender at sentencing Wednesday. He had pleaded guilty to a third-degree sex offense in December.

According to court documents, Elam left his assigned bus route on July 7 and drove to Cecil County, where he molested the 22-year-old woman. The Cecil Whig reports that surveillance cameras on the bus recorded the crime.
