Police Officer & Civilian Injured In Accident In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)– An accident injures a police officer and a civilian at Edmondson and Franklin Avenues in Baltimore.

The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the police officer’s patrol car hit a pole. The officer sustained minor injuries.

The civilian was also injured in the accident and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating whether the civilian was struck by the police car or the debris from the accident. Also under investigation is whether icy roads and bad weather played a role.

    Since when are citizens – civilians? The distinction is between the military and civilians – not policemen. The police are merely civilians with police powers – they are not military.
