Port Of Baltimore Set Records In 2011

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Officials say public terminals at the Port of Baltimore's set records last year in handling of vehicles, containers and wood pulp.

The Baltimore Sun reports that figures released Thursday show port workers processed 612,480 auto imports
and exports in 2011 and more than a half-million tons of wood pulp, both records. Container traffic was up 4 percent from 2010.

Gov. Martin O'Malley said the figures show that the port has rebounded from the economic slump.
