3 Police Officers To Be Honored For Fire Rescue

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Three Prince George’s County police officers who helped evacuate a burning apartment building in College Park are being honored.

County Fire Chief Mark Bashoor is scheduled Friday to present award certificates and letters of commendation to the three officers.

The officers entered the Spellman House Apartments on Saturday after noticing heavy smoke from the sixth floor. They helped evacuate the building despite not having protective equipment.

The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the College Park Fire Station.
