Baltimore Sues Former Mayoral Candidate's Wife

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The city of Baltimore is suing the wife of a former mayoral candidate over money she was erroneously paid while working for the Council president.

The Baltimore Sun  reports that Otis Rolley's wife, Charline, took more than 90 days of paid leave while employed by Council President Bernard "Jack" Young's office.

Charline Rolley took the leave to give birth, care for her sick infant and work on her husband's campaign. The city says that she was incorrectly paid due to a computer glitch and the civil suit accuses her of breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

The city contends that Charline Rolley should have noticed the discrepancy. Her attorney says she should not have to pay for the city's error.

A trial is scheduled for March 23.
