BALTIMORE (WJZ)– The Orioles have signed contracts with two players.

Right-handed pitcher Luis Ayala joins the Orioles after playing 52 games last season for the New York Yankees. Ayala, 34, posted a 2.09 ERA. He has also played for the Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Florida Marlins and Minnesota Twins.

Ayala was signed to a one-year contract.

Outfielder Matt Angle will be reassigned to make room for Ayala on the 40-man roster.

Nick Johnson joins the Orioles minor league after playing 55 games in Cleveland’s minor league. He has a .401 on-base percentage over nine seasons and 794 games in his major league career. He was also invited to join the team for spring training.

Xavier Avery, L.J. Hoes and Dane Sardinha were also invited to join the league camp.
