STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Anthony Jackson came off the bench to score 17 points and lead Stony Brook to an 80-68 win over Maryland-Baltimore County Thursday night in America East Conference action.

Stony Brook (17-7, 12-1) remained atop the league standings, but this game was much closer than the teams’ first meeting on Jan. 11.

But Jackson and Marcus Rouse, who also came off the bench to score 14 points, helped Stony Brook regain control. With teammates Bryan Dougher scoring 16 points and Dallis Joyner 14, Stony Brook outscored UMBC 46-33 after intermission. Stony Brook’s bench outscored UMBC’s 38-21. The Seawolves were 20 of 31 at the foul line, the Retrievers just 9 of 12.
