Man Who Escaped From Md. Courthouse Sentenced
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A man who escaped from District Court in Annapolis has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Bonrick Lee Barksdale, 25, pleaded guilty Monday to escape and burglary. The Annapolis Capital reports that Barksdale will be extradited to North Carolina to face charges of first-degree sex offense and other crimes.
Anne Arundel County police arrested Barksdale in August on a warrant for those charges. While he was waiting in a holding cell, Barksdale told the guard he needed toilet paper and when it was handed to him, Barksdale fled.
After a statewide manhunt, Barksdale was found in a garage.
