Md. Teen Indicted On Murder Charge In Dad's Death

BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- The Harford County prosecutor says a 16-year-old boy has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of first- and second-degree murder in his father's death.

State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly said Tuesday that Robert C. Richardson also was indicted on a charge of use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime and will be tried as an adult.

Authorities have said earlier that the Bel Air youth shot his father, Robert Richardson Jr., and drove to Aberdeen where he dumped the body in a pond behind a relative's house. Authorities say the father was shot with a handgun.

Cassilly's statement says the teen will continue to be held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center, where he was taken after his arrest Jan. 19.
