BLOG: High Wind Gusts & Low Temps Saturday; 60s Return Later In The Week

High winds have been the main weather story Saturday. There have been reports of gusts over 50 and 60 mph reported throughout the state Friday night through Saturday. These high winds are created from the difference in pressure - the strong low pressure of Friday's storm leaving in contrast to the high pressure building into the Mid-Atlantic. Here is a link to more specific wind gusts.

The winds will back off overnight, but they have brought in a shot of colder air. We are going to the 20s Saturday night, then only rebounding to the upper 40s on Sunday. I say only, but that is actually near our average of 48 degrees. However, another round of warm air will arrive in Maryland on Monday. Highs are going back to near 60 degrees.

There is a front that will weaken as it approaches Maryland Monday. Some clouds will mix with sunshine, but it looks like there won't be enough moisture for showers. Sunshine will take over again on Tuesday with highs dropping back to the 50s before another storm approaches on Wednesday. More clouds and even some rain will accompany this storm Wednesday, while temperatures get back to the 60s again. The rain and clouds will be slow to leave on Thursday.

We will be watching for another storm/front to move our way next weekend. Are you aware that it will be the first weekend of March and we have only had 1.8" of snow this entire season? Incredible.
