Ocean City Considers Mobile Booth To Boost Tourism

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- For the second year, Ocean City's Town Council is considering the creation of a traveling booth to promote tourism.

The Daily Times reports the council is considering a new proposal from Spark Productions for the OC Experience initiative.

Designs call for a booth with monitors playing videos with current and vintage Ocean City images. The videos would be supplemented with materials and souvenirs to be given to guests.

Hotel stays and dinner vouchers would be given as well. The booth could visit travel shows in Philadelphia, Washington and as far away as Ottawa.

The project is scaled back from a $200,000 proposal rejected last year. The new proposal costs about $180,000 through a two-year contract. Spark Productions would charge $10,000 per event with four to five events per year.
