Man Killed In Hagerstown Crash

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State police say a North Carolina man has been killed and a passenger hurt when the car they were in left the road and overturned in Hagerstown.

Troopers say a car driven by Robert Sanderson, 31, of Charlotte, N.C., was traveling south on Sharpsburg Pike about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the car failed to negotiate a turn, left the road, overturned and stopped in a field.

Sanderson was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car, 21-year-old Kelsey Gray of Williamsport, was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with life threatening injuries.

Troopers say speed was a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
