I saw a comment from Endy Chavez in the Baltimore Sun about why he picked the Orioles. Basically, he said that Baltimore gave him the best chance to play regularly.

I think this, without meaning to, states where the Orioles are as a franchise.

We get guys who are looking for the most playing time, not for a place to win. That’s not a bad thing. However, you always here about guys wanting to win and getting a ring. Those are often the players that only the great teams can get. We’re not there, and that’s what makes it so hard to get coveted players.

We are going to get free agents that would ride the pine, or not even make, the contenders. Until we get the players that want a ring instead of just playing time, we won’t be able to compete for the playoffs.
