Technical Foul Lifts Morgan State Over Delaware State 73-72

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Aric Brooks made two free throws after a technical foul with 1.1 seconds left to give Morgan State a 73-72 win over Delaware State Monday night.

Delaware State's Tahj Tate dunked a tip-in off of Jay Threatt's missed shot and most of Memorial Hall thought the game was over.

However, there was 1.1 second left on the clock as fans and players ran on the court, causing a technical foul for a delay of game.

The Bears (8-19, 5-10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led 65-59 with 4:29 left and Delaware State went on a 9-2 run to take the lead.

It remained tight, and Ian Chiles made 1 of 2 free throws to put the Bears up 71-70 with 7 seconds to go.

Blake Bozeman scored 14 points to lead Morgan State, which shot 65.2 percent (30 of 46).

Threatt scored 19 points and Tate 18 for the Hornets (14-13, 11-4).
