Man Guilty Of Killing Teen, Putting Body In Closet

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man has been convicted of suffocating a 15-year-old boy, slashing him with a razor and stuffing his body in the teen's bedroom closet.

Dante Parrish, 37, was convicted Thursday in a Baltimore court of the 2009 murder of Jason Mattison. He will be sentenced April 3.

The Baltimore Sun reports that prosecutors said Parrish gave statements to detectives acknowledging that he took part in beating and gagging the teen, but blamed the killing on an unknown person.

Parrish's attorney argued that investigators had coerced statements from witnesses, failed to test evidence and fashioned a case that pointed to Parrish.
