Driver Fleeing Prince George's County Traffic Stop Crashes At D.C. Line

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Authorities say several people were hurt when a driver fleeing a traffic stop in Prince George's County was involved in a crash with a Metrobus at the D.C. border.

Prince George's County police say an officer tried to stop a car Sunday afternoon, but the driver fled toward the District. Police spokesman Cpl. Mike Rodriguez says the car wasn't stolen or involved in any crime, so the officer didn't pursue it. However, moments later the car was involved in a crash at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Southern avenues.

D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson Lon Walls says six people were injured in the incident, including one adult who suffered life threatening injuries. Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says the bus driver and four passengers suffered injuries that are not life threatening.
