DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ)– Baltimore County police are looking for a suspect they say hit a juvenile with his vehicle on purpose as the child was crossing the street.

The first-degree assault happened in the 3300-block of Wallford Drive in Dundalk around 5:40 p.m. Friday. The victim and several witnesses told police that a while male between 50 and 60 years of age purposely accelerated his vehicle and swerved to hit the child.

The vehicle was a newer model, silver- or gray-colored Chevy Silverado king cab with a modified exhaust system. The passenger-side mirror made contact with the victim’s left arm and may be damaged.

The juvenile was treated at a local hospital and released.

More like a hit and run instead of a first-degree assault I hope the kid is OK

One of the “Slow walkers” on purpose?

I live in Dundalk and these kids will walk in the street all time and look at you and say “I am not moving”, he should have put the chevy emblem right up his or hers ass. Then maybe they woun’t walk in the street and challenge you.

Yes, they do this. I live on a school route and groups of them walk in the road and won’t get out of the way for cars. Not one of them would have the guts to do this alone but in groups they are very arrogant. They shout obscenities at cars trying to get by them. I’ve had to listen to this from my home for years, and have had to run this gauntlet myself just trying to drive down my own street to my house. I have long thought that one day they are going to encounter the wrong person and one or more of them was going to get the snot knocked out of them. We need to start taking their photos (yes you can, they are on a public street) and asking the police to ID them at the schools. They harass people every day here and it needs to stop. Someone needs to get the parents of these brats involved and those parents need to teach their kids to stop acting like stupid little animals in public before someone ends up killing one of them.
