BALTIMORE (AP) — A western Maryland man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for urging members of a child pornography network to make and share images of exploited children.

Matthew Sluss, 36, of Rawlings was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. He had pleaded guilty
in June to one count of interstate advertising of child pornography.

According to court records, Sluss used peer-to-peer computer file-sharing technology to share tens of thousands of forbidden
photos and videos with more than 70 online friends.

Thirty-three years? Why not 1033 years? Excessive, just saying. NOT for pornography of any kind, but worried about the cruel & unusual aspect of the sentence. I doubt his years in prison will reform him in any way, so what’s the point? Like I said, might as well give him a thousand years if the point is to punish him. But, if reforming him is part of the calculation, significantly less time is in order.
