Smell Of Smoke In Cabin Returns Plane To BWI
LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) -- The smell of smoke aboard a plane taking off for Atlanta prompted pilots to return to BWI.
Delta flight 1425 landed at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport around 5 p.m. on Monday without incident.
Delta spokesman Eric Torbenson says the pilots did not declare an emergency after the smell of smoke was detected in the cabin,
but they turned back as a precaution. The MD-80 aircraft was checked and Torbenson says it was expected to take the 149 passengers to their destination Monday evening.
