Suspect Crashes Car Trying To Elude Police

CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Police say a suspect crashed his car into a telephone pole trying to elude police.

According to police, they were called to a CVS in the 2300-block of Hanover Pike by employees of the store for a prescription fraud. When they arrived, they were searching for the suspect, who was driving a white Honda.

Officers stopped the suspect, who refused to turn off his car. The suspect drove away and lost control of his car just over the Baltimore County line and crashed into a telephone pole on Hanover Pike.

The suspect was taken to Shock Trauma in serious condition. His injuries are not life threatening.

He will be charged with assault and traffic violations after he's released from the hospital.
