Baltimore Catholic School To Close At End Of Year
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Archdiocese of Baltimore says St. Ambrose Catholic School in Park Heights will close at the end of the year.
The archdiocese says the school is shutting down due to low enrollment and financial difficulty.
About 120 students in kindergarten through eighth grade are enrolled at the school, and only 65 were registered to attend next
year. Five years ago, 225 students were enrolled at the school.
The archdiocese is encouraging students from St. Ambrose to attend Holy Angels Catholic School, which opened in 2010 in
Southwest Baltimore's Wilhelm Park neighborhood. It says the tuition at Holy Angels is lower and that bus transportation will
available to students who transfer.
